Accident recording / reporting - how do you do it?
Since we became an academy we no longer buy back in to the LEA's school health, safety and risk assessment systems so we need to look for an alternative system.
The question is what do you do for recording and reporting accidents?
Do you buy into something like Prime Systems (Prime Systems Accident and Incident Reporting Software | Prime Systems), did you build your own system?

Can I point your school to this resource - Practical Health and Safety in Secondary Schools: A whole-school resource | Optimus Education my friend and her husband (who are health and safety consultants and in her case a former teacher in a number of schools) wrote it and I and a few other people in Educational Support Staff gave extra pointers and advice to them on how we see things. It has a number of good ideas, templates, presentations etc... so could be very useful for your SLT to look at, I know some of the PowerPoints on the CD with it are good for simple whole staff training.
They also do consultancy if your school was wanting to take external advice.
