Glad I'm not the only one who does this!

Like some of the others, the only children's names I know are those that are "challenging".

I usually ask the child how they spell their surname... with a surname, I can usually remember their forename!

You do get some peculiar looks as they say S M I T H!

Did quite well on the test though (28/30) and the 2 I didn't get (the 2 black ladies) I felt weren't very fair to UK people: the first was somewhat obscure and the other was a very old picture.

Mind you I'm pretty good with actors and rubbish at "real" people!

Used to know a few names at my old job, as it was a large secondary school so inevitably there were a few bad ones or ones that kept coming up to the office.

Totally different now at a smaller independent school - the culture of the pupils coming to me doesn't exist (partly because they're a lot younger I suppose) and there are literally no troublemakers, they're all so well behaved (well on the computers at least)

I've been here five years and I think I only know about a third of the staff by name. It doesn't help that I'm more second line than first I suppose. As for the kids, I know a few of the obvious ones by sight but I don't know any of their names!
