Isn't it jsut the water they are worried about really, when i was in Cuba they moved all the cars so they were touchign each other, then they couldn't blow over! That was reassuring...

Your high up, you'll be fine.

I suppose it could be a big storm, or it could just be England in early June.

Having seen the news this morning my thoughts are definitely with everyone out there. The clear up operation is going to take some time.

I hope Matt is able to get back on air soon. Heaven only knows what his family have been going through back home.

The difficulty, as the bloke on the news explained, is that usually when a storm hits, its small enough just to affect a single state or area. So when it comes to clean-up, the nearby areas/states send help to clean up as quick as possible. With it hitting such a large area, that's not going to happen this time, as those people are busy in their own areas.

Like the Subway - something like 7 tunnels flooded and they reckon it'll take at least 4 days to drain them before they can even assess the damage!

Well, two of the POPs connecting to our Waltham datacentre are currently underwater...and our Boston office appears to have disappeared.

I'm sure I'll hear some horror stories as the yanks wake up...

They are ok - I spoke to them this morning. My youngest quite excited by it all. Problem now is power - 80% of long island is without it. This is where I am. No internet but the MPLS circuit is up so I am RDPing back into our London office and using that connection.
Did not get much sleep last night - too windy on the 8th floor. Loads of people sleeping in the lobby of the hotel. Trees this morning blocking roads but as hotel is a 10 min walk from office I got in.
