    Nope. Samsungs are the best

(to be fair, the Crucials are also good, at a lower price point. But the Samsungs are pretty much the best around performance-wise, are very reliable, and not too pricey.)

You could also save some cash by buying a 128Gb drive to install your OS on and then just run a second HDD for most of your games. There are applications around to let you move Steam games between drives, and Steam itself lets you choose which drive to install on now (I don't know if it lets you move them though).

TBH I do like Samsung products!

I haven't fully decided on if I want a 256gb SSD or 128gb drive yet - need to do some more reading to see if the SSD speed increase for games is worth it. Also on my PC I only have Orcs Must Die 2 and ARMA / Dayz installed, both of which I have barely played, so I won't bother transferring stuff from Steam. Thanks for the tip though

    Unfortunately not.

Nope, the PC version of IV ran like a pig as well, so V may be pretty bad too. I have these specs and IV still runs slow!

    AMD x6 Cores @ 2.8 GHz
    Geforce GTX 470
    8GB DDR3 RAM
    1TB HDD @ 7200rpm

I can't say I ever really had an issue, it always ran worse than other games, but I had at least 45+ fps, was quite smooth on:

AMD Phenom XII 955 Black @3.2 Ghz
    2x ATI Radeon HD 6870s
    8GB DDR3 1333 RAM
    1TB HDD @ 7200rpm

I think it was more a driver issue (Win 7 x64) as the old drivers ran it OK but then hardly any new games would run nicely such as DiRT, Skyrim, BF3 e.t.c... so it was either play GTA IV on the old drivers and nothing else, or not GTA IV at all, but all the new games work luckily I have it on PS3 too, but I wanted to mod it and make a video, but couldn't because of the drivers!

I'll think twice before using a nvidia card again, but to be fair I think it's more to do with poor optimisation by Rockstar than nvidias drivers.

I'm running Win 7 x64 too, no issues.. it could be the Nvidia drivers playing up, I haven't used an Nvidia card in about 4 years, so not too sure :P

I had it on Xbox, but when the full collection is on steam for a fiver, you're mad to say no!

True that, there are SO many good mods for GTA IV as well, there's countless hours of replay-value! However I wouldn't buy the steam edition if I was modding, but £5 is a true bargain for most people

Good news! The PC version of GTA V is going to be released a few months after the console releases.
