Hmm I just tried registering. Is it possible to register privately? I wasn't happy with the junk mail at my last school but after entering address etc I realised they want a school, not my home details which probably isn't a good idea anyway!

If you want to register your home address then you put yourself down as a consultant / independent. If you are saying you work at a school, they want to know which school.

Mmmmm, I've registered but the new dates mean that the Saturday falls on my youngest's birthday this year (and although she'd be in tech heaven with me, I'm not sure I'd get much done in terms of working my way round the stands).

Might have to see if I can go on the Friday.... but the 6hr round trip is going to be a killer, the trip there won't be too bad but coming out of London on a Friday night could be travelling hell!

I'm hoping to go up on the Firday to BETT and then spend Saturday and Sunday in London, and make it a nice weekend away ... much needed. Just got to find a reasonable hotel and train tickets :/

That's exactly what I'm doing. Work has already paid for the hotel and transport tickets which is nice and I'm on food expenses as well

Ha, I'm not going to be that lucky unfortunately. But I am brining a friend with me which is good ... does anyone know how I can obtain a ticket for someone that isn't an IT professional of any kind?

Yes, go as a "consultant" as Grumbledook says further up the thread. @elsiegee40 brings her son every year and I am sure he doesn't work in IT!

He's my "apprentice" And he's only been once so far, but will be attending again this year.

    EDIT
And he does work for me in the holidays. He's quite a handy junior tech

Well that is me booked up at the Novotel London Excel for 2 nights and return flight with BA, have had to book a taxi to the hotel as I can only get a flight to London Heathrow from Newcastle at the time specific to my requirements.

    School has paid obviously

See all you IT bad boys n girls down there.

Will that mean my home gets spammed?

If you put your name down with an address then expect to get some marketing materials. Entrance is no direct cost ... the indirect cost is the marketing guff you get as a result.
