bossman (30th January 2013)
@bossman. I doubt it's more than a 5-10 minute walk along two main roads. Knowing where they are I'd walk it. I suppose it depends on what you call 'luggage'. My idea of luggage for an over night stay is a fresh shirt in a ruck sack
As for me I'm heading down Friday night, staying in Woolwich. I'm tempted to walk over from there on Saturday and then home on Sunday.
Or, if you're sick of trains by the time you get to Canning Town, stay on to North Greenwich (The O2) and get the cable car to the ExCel!
@bossman it is a 20 minute walk to Canning Town. You would be perfectly safe walking (I'd do it on my own with a suitcase), but I seem to remember that you have problems with your knee. Get the hotel to call you a cab to get to Canning Town tube. It'll only be 5 minutes in the cab, but it will save you a hike with luggage and won't cost much.
Allow 1.5 hours minimum to get to Heathrow.
Dos_Box ... There's an eSafety talk in theatre C at 12.15 pm that I want to go to.
And on Friday Brian Cox is in the main arena at 12.30pm!
I'll miss it on Friday as one of my suppliers is feeding me! But I'll be there on Saturday
Just setting off London
Well, had my day there yesterday. Bit manic as it was a late start and a fairly early finish (got there at 10:30 and left at 4:30). It was nice to say hi to various people, and I saw a few bits and pieces that I am interested in (HP's AIO PoE thin client, Lenovo's hybrid fold around tablet, some fancy looking prospectuses from a marketing company).
My boss came with me, and seemed somewhat bored! My head is still there and is somewhat bored too. I dunno, that just seems odd to me!
Well I walked my legs off yesterday and still didnt get round everything I wanted to see, I reckon you could do with at least 2 days to get round everything, even with our cherry picked shopping list of things we wanted to look at we still walked round for 6 hours and didnt get round it all. Anybody got any spare feet?
What happened to the edugeek picture that could be signed on their stand last year, did a pic ever go online or anything?
What's happened to this years stand cam?
