I'm at the infamous John Cleveland College in Hinckley. 3 years now, do you think they'd let me off for good behavoir?

Yeah it went into special measure a couple years before I got here. It's now a specialist science college - apparently ranks as 'quite good' on a national scale. I'm afraid I can't see much past the 'kids weren't like this when i was at school' cliché.
It's not bad though, Salary's ok, team of 3 techies and an admin assistant for 1700 kids and 200 staff. I'm the assistant network manager - so the one in the middle.... I do have a bit of a 3 year itch now though... I wonder what the average length of sentance is for an it techie in education?

Hi Adam
I am Limehurst in Loughboroughnearly 4 years on that note next term we (as in work not edugeek) may arrange some get togetherS planned for Leicestershire techies got to get go ahead from people. Maybe a informal thing to start with...

Good idea Russ, I'll come along, been looking forward to this kind of get together, it would be nice.
Ash.
I thought we were trying to discourage regional Edugeeking, and go for a more holistic approach!

The problem is that it is often easier to get a group of people together regionally and add a few extras from outside the area than go for a major meet.
Then again ... even that is hard.

Indeed... look at last year's Christmas meet up (check http://rmcharlton.blogspot.com/2006/...gathering.html for more details)Originally Posted by GrumbleDook

First regional thing is a school thing we are doing nothing to do with edugeek...
But on edugeek.net thing and local side of stuff official line we encourge local meetup's and will support them in any way we can and would prefer to go that route than have lots of large conferences..
But we are not going to have sub forums for each area of the country as was discussed recently for various good reasons..
But local edugeek meetups is one area we want to investigate in next 12 months..
Hope that clears things up.
Russell
Would someone like myself be welcomed as i work for a 3rd party supplier and not a individual school.
