I am a Pagan myself. It’s not so much the image that’s offensive it’s where it’s placed. If it were a few hills away it wouldn’t be offensive. The site is a religious and historical site that many considered sacred. Childless couples go there and perform certain dances amoung other things so they can have children not to have a giant homer watching them. If this was done on a Christian or Muslim religious site would you all still see it as none offensive? Would you not expect the Christian or Muslim to find it offensive.
“HA! "Rain magic"”
It’s not that different from prying to god. Do you also laugh at people who pry? Hey its raining isn’t it, must be working.![]()
I have to say when I first saw this I thought it was going to get interesting because of exactly this argument. Now considering how often Christian imagery is used these days in advertising, tv and other various ways with no respect to what it really is and anyone piping up to complain is normally shouted down or told not to be so sensitive and the whole Islamic cartoon episode not too long ago it will be interesting to see how this is played out.Originally Posted by Pottsey
No offence to you, but I just find how these things are handled from differing view points to be very interesting
Edit: Oh and yes I sat eating my lunch watching the rain wondering if there was any corellation between magic rain or taht it is a rainy season![]()

Prying to god....i get angry with people that pry. God probably doesnt like people prying in his business.
PrAying however....somewhat different.........
oooh, turning into typo bashing :S
Surely they had to get permission from the council etc? And they would know the importance of the location, so they're also partly responsible?
Chris
Yeah...sorry...it just made me laugh. Prying...bothering...god bothering.
There was logic somewhere in there.
Yea, im sure no offense would have been taken
Still lets bash the council for allowing it, wrarr
Chris
I agree though, it's a bit insensitive. I've got a mate who's pagan (don't know whether a practising pagan anymore or not) but it does seem a bit mean.
Someone somewhere must have thought it was a good idea at the time.
Lets take it to the top, Matt Groening, here we come!
Chris
They should have gone whole hog and gotten the guy that does the home voice to sit with a PA system and say things to passers by![]()
Now that I would have paid to go see!!Originally Posted by Joedetic
