Just wanted to see what other people's thoughts were on this game, and recommend it to anyone who might be curious.
One of the first games I've ever played where your main objective isn't simply to slaughter every single enemy in your path. Also suspect that it helps train problem solving under pressure.
The storyline is fantastic, scaling up nicely as you go through the game and gradually discover what's going on.
The art, and the way the city's presented is absolutely beautiful. When you really get into the game and can spot the routes well you'll be leaping from rooftop to rooftop, running along walls and swinging off bars with barely a pause, all the while with the warm glowing colours of the city whipping past above, below and around you.
The combat system's a little primitive, but then that helps the game work. You can hold a single gun at a time, and even the lighter ones affect your movement to a degree. I found the best way is to disarm someone, fire a few shots with the gun to take down the biggest nearby threats then dump it and keep running. Never stop running.
I watched my friends son play a demo. I thought it looked a bit linear. Not my kinda game. :)
Downloaded the demo of PSN, only thing to say is that Father Christmas better deliver..:evil_twisted:
I would raise the point that I could follow and understand the Matrix, but I lost the plot about half way through Mirror's Edge, then again, I didn't give much attention.
When I got hit by a train in the subway, it scared the crap out me - I did not expect it (oddly enough, running along railway tracks wasn't a give away)
However, it is quite short, but very fun to a degree... if you get into it quite well.
The other half is enjoying it, makes me a bit dizzy though!
it's ok, but i think the fighting system does let it down. i know its not meant to be centered on combat, but if i'm to be expected to disarm and fight an enemy (or 7), it should be a little more intuitive.
it would be nice to have a free roam sort of thing too, so you can just go wherever you want. i know that would put massive pressure on the system to load a whole city (gta4 style) but it would be fun as hell
I have been thinking about getting it for a while but didn't want it enough to pay £40 for it but just found this so ordered it.
