Say Hello to Ouya. The $99 console

This is a nice story: BBC News - Ouya game console smashes funding target
And at $99 (£63) for an Android based gaming platform could be very interesting indeed.

I pledged a bit more money for a brown Ouya (primarily for running XBMC, Plex and/or SqueezePlayer). It should be much faster than a Raspberry Pi running Raspbmc and better looking than the Sumvision Cyclone Nano Slim Plus too (a rebranded Pivos XIOS DS).

Btw, the BBC forgot to add the VAT. It will be approx. £75 in the UK.

For anyone who missed out on the Kickstarter, you can now pre-order the Ouya through their website...

Ouya founder promises new $99 console every year

^ Which is just as well because the Tegra 3 is starting to show its age.
