I might have to get the Portal bundle, both games for that cheap is really good. The Indie Bundles are always good too. Though I am fully engrossed in DayZ at the moment, something is going to have to be specTACular to draw me away from an open-world sanbox zombie survival sim

23rd July 2012, 08:15 AM #17 I've just bought a new PC and am looking at some cheap Steam games to try it out (a little late to the sale, I know!) is there anywhere you can see all sale games? Or is it literally the dozen on the home page?

23rd July 2012, 08:21 AM #18 Also, any recommendations for me? I haven't played PC games in years but my new PC should be up to the task so what would my limited funds be best spent on? I mainly polay FPS and RPG, although I'm open to good action or puzzlers, racing games too and the odd sim... yeah I suppose I'll play anything!

Fallout 3 GOTY edition is £3.74 today. Borderlands GOTY edition is £9.99 - I've managed to sink 10 hours into it this weekend!

I was eyeing FO3, would you say that's a better game than New Vegas?

I've played neither of them yet - my colleague says FO3 is one of the best games he's ever played though, and he used to be a game designer...

Can't get a much better recommendation than that! OK, added to cart...

23rd July 2012, 10:07 AM #23 Not sure how much it is at the moment, bt PAYDAY: The Heist is an awesome game! Got it for £3.74 and is proving to be excellent value for money!!!

I certainly would. I found F:NV was too easy. I haven't completed F3 yet, but I'm certainly enjoying it a lot more. It's more difficult for a start, plus I'm kind of preferring the storyline of F3 vs the revenge plot of F:NV
My brony bought me the Bioshock pack the other day. I was pleased with this. Now I just have to pry the Mrs. off my PC so I can play it sometime xD

I found it remarkably boring. To each their own though.

23rd July 2012, 04:15 PM #26 Get the Portal pack if you haven't played either of them, they're absolutely genius. First Person Puzzlers, and best comedy games ever made. And get Bastion while it's cheap, it is the most charming game in memory. Don't pay attention to the cartoony style, 'cos the presentation, gameplay, soundtrack, narration... are all incredible. EDIT: and if RPGs are your thing, Skyrim is pretty epic as well. As is Dragon Age: Origins, the Ultimate Edition is half price at a tenner.
There's a link to a complete list on the first page of the thread as well. Just get enough to tide you over for five months or so as well - there'll be another sale at Christmas and most of this will be 75% off again on various daily deals.
A grand total of £29.14 spent this time round for me. Crusader Kings II + Sword of Islam, Trine 2, Dear Esther, Stacking, Recettear, Sins of a Solar Empire: Trinity, Dragon Age: Origins (Ultimate Edition), GalCiv II, Crysis Warhead and Capsized. Actually not too bad a haul for that price...

23rd July 2012, 04:19 PM #27 So far I've bought Portal 1 & 2 bundle, Braid, Limbo (awesome game, artistically simple & beautiful plus lots of fun ways to kill your character :P ), Prince of Persia, Bulletstorm, World of Goo... think that's all for now. All of them were under £5 each so really great deals!

It's all in the timing, on the Xbox I got the achievement for completing the game in less than 5 deaths. It wasn't easy!
