Just our luck that they'll all be in the same place.
Only gonna be on for an hour or two tonight, off to see at quarter to 9
Seen a few randoms spend several hours on today. - 52 active items on the server, they could well be underwater!
If UK21 isn't returning, do you think its worth stealing the name? Might Even had DayzSims to the start of the name just to collect any of the old server randoms.

Do it. If it doesn't bring randoms, it'll probably bring in Josef and Sarge >:P
I'll Warn the guys tonight then and switch it over - just see if we can capture some more randoms.
I'm not going to be doing anymore db edits after last night, maybe the occasional recover a glitches player but its wayyyy too much effort. Also not going to look into the spawn problem until the weekend when I can spent a few hours. On the plus side, I know that things are being spawned into the game as I can move them!
I didn't know what was going on last night, logged in maruko military base before I went out, came back online and had a ghillie suit!
Wasn't complaining like, got out without being seen
We've got the chopper repaired and moving now, did some prison raiding, found some new toys
As for the Ghillies, anyone alive on the server when Chris was playing in the DB got one added. They just had to have a char that was alive when it last logged out, so you should have one.
Should be able to start pulling Data out soon and displaying them on a site - The same way that Dayzs official site does.
Number of characters, kills, deaths, live expectancy, Skins worn, favoured weapons etc.
I've cleared all unclaimed vehicles again in hope that new ones may spawn on land instead of water.
And hopefully, they won't spawn 9 pick ups together in a group where I can be trigger happy.
That was a big fireball.
Decided to bite the bullet and buy Arma2 so I can play DayZ. I realise it could be out on standalone soon but I've spent the last 2 evenings watching videos of people playing it and I'm off on holiday next week so why not
I'm unsure which of the 2 installers to use though. Would you guys recommend using DayZ commander or Six Launcher? I bought it via steam if that makes a difference.
Any other tips for a noob!
YouTube how to install it if you get a bit stuck as there are loads of videos and guides for it. There is a handy guide on the wiki: How to install DayZ - DayZ Wiki
I'd recommend trying vanilla DayZ first and when your comfortable with it, sample Lingor Island (a separate mod required) - Lingor Island - DayZ Wiki
Tips to start with?
- Trust no one unless you know them. Treat any survivors you see as a threat. if they have a bandit skin, shoot or run!
- You will die often to begin with so don't let it put you off.
- While the cities and military bases are more dangerous, they have better loot so are worth the risk, as long as you get out alive!
- It's an Alpha mod so bugs do exist.
- May be worth starting on a lower population server to reduce the risk of death by bandits.
- Find a gun fast. Even if bandits don't kill you,, the zombies will!
- Maybe worth running through the basic ARMA2 tutorials to get familiar with the controls too if you;ve never played it before.
Ooooo! New DayZ update is out! 18.104.22.168!
I'll update when I get in then, might not play much tonight though.. Crysis 2's waiting patiently on steam for me.
They let me drive one of the SUVs last night, Carbon was screaming through most of the drive, but I managed to keep it one piece.
Nearly lost Richie too, he went down to 300 blood lol
