Battlefield 3 - PC Server EVENT

Myself, @gshaw and @CAM were on for a bit later yesterday evening - think we all need to agree set times to get the server running otherwise it will keep on being empty!

I did not see your last post as bitching at all. I fully agree with you. Having a set number of minimum people to start a game is rubbish. You could spend ages waiting for the server to fill. A 2 person minimum should be in place but as usual, the minority ruin it for the majority.

This is a feature they brought across from BC2. When BC2 was first released on PC, a game would start with only 1 person on the server (rankled or unranked) so people joined a rush server on their own and played as assault with C4 and blew up all the M-COM stations and effectively raped the points out of resupplying, playing as assault and destroying al the M-COMS! So in the first patch, they set a minimum player limit on ranked servers to (I think) 4 people.

I can see the pros and cons from both sides.

One mate plays only 64 man conquest on metro and just rapes points at the bottle neck on the stairs. He only plays as medic or assault and revives people/resupply's them. Most games he finishes with 11k points so is storming through the ranks. Totally defeats the purpose of the game IMO...

Patch has been installed - I've updated the config to take into account the new rule.

I think just the "2 people to start a game" change will make a big difference! I'll try to pry myself away from Skyrim tonight for a bash on the server. When there were 20 odd peeps playing on it, it was good fun.

If you decided to go down the hardcore route, please leave 3rd person jets on!

Still waiting to see if people want HC - doesn't make much odds to me as I'm usually a hardcore player.

I'd never turn off 3rd person, I use it far too much to check what's on my tail!
