Grand Theft Auto V
A new GTA game! I'm sooo excited. Check out the trailer at Rockstar Games, it even made the BBC News.
So now we've got something else to look forward to (I'm still waiting for Rockstar to release Red Dead Redemption on the Pee Cee, it's no fair).

I'm undecided on this at the mo. Revisiting San Andreas, so will it just be a rehash of GTA:SA?
Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to it but they could have chosen somewhere else. Perhaps a rethinking of GTA:London that they made ages ago....but with real English actors not Americans "dick van dyking" it all the time.
I'm guessing missions revolving around actors or movie studios, things like that.
I'll be honest, VC still plays the best for me.
Plus to be brutally honest I was a bit underwhelmed at the trailer. Some of the GFX looked more San Andreas than GTA:IV in places. I'd have expected them to go all out for a trailer!

looks good - didn't ever play San Andreas, only GTA4. I'll reserve judgement until I've got my paws on it....

Do you not think the graphics look dated?
That's the problem these days, PS3 and XBOX hardware is so old that anything that gets made for consoles and PC looks unnecessarily rubbish on the PC "port".

One possible upside to being set in San Andreas again.........hot coffee

I rarely buy games for the console 90% of my gaming is done on my PC.

I was completely underwhelmed by it, to be honest. But then, I was generally underwhelmed by GTA4 as well - too much harassment to go bowling, and not enough fun in the driving model. Vice City is still the high water mark for me - just ludicrous amounts of fun and funny. If 5 is a bit less seriousface and a bit more game-like (rather than trying to be a Scorsese movie) it'll be better, but I certainly won't be buying it straight away like I mistakenly did for 4 - indeed, I got my 360 for GTA4, I was that excited at the time.
Red Dead Redemption has, I fear, all but been confirmed as never coming to PC. Sorry.

I was trying to think of a way to describe my feelings towards this and I think you've managed to sum them up nicely there. GTA IV was a bit too serious IMO. San Andreas was good fun, as was Vice City.

I personally felt that San Andreas was the worst they ever made! Having to go and buy food to eat and replenish health, spend hours in the gym to keep fit... no thanks, not in a game!

- Rep Power
Vice city is my favourite for the music alone!

Always believe in your soul!
You've got the power to know
/cue being gunned down by the massed ranks of VCPD

Have to agree about the Vice City soundtrack.
Brilliant to cruise around listening to Broken Wings.

The one downside to VC....it gave Danny Dyer another job and another reason to open his mouth.

If they make a decent PC port, this time with basic things like Anti-Aliasing support included, I'd probably buy it. But the dire GTA4 port doesn't fill me with much hope.

That, and water. Water was a nightmare in Vice City! It was around every corner! [and you couldn't swim]
