Got a level 42 Elf mage. Done main quest up to the go to Solitude bit. Finished Mage quest line, not touched any of the other quest lines. Mostly doing side quests and trying to acquire words of power.

I did try the Oghma Infinium glitch and took my character up level 81 with 100 in all stats but I consider it game breaking as when I went outside I got owned by an elder dragon. So I reverted to an earlier save. While doing the Oghma Infinium glitch I did find that it is possible to duplicate the Oghma Infinium, which sells for about 1700 gold, so in my game I have a bookshelf full of them just in case I need money in a hurry.

I'm up to lvl 11 now. Nord archer & one handed specialist. At times, I love the game, others I HATE it! For example, I came across a ruined fort with a few mages scattered around it so I decided to clear it out for some XP. No problem picking off the mages outside with my bow, but once I got inside, one mage was standing right by the door. He heard me and started attacking instantly and two more mages popped around the corner and all three ganked me within seconds. I reloaded a couple of times to no avail so decided to turn around and escape back out the door! I managed to get outside and died instantly the mages managed to set me on fire! My auto save loaded to the point where I got outside and I was dead instantly. Had to revert back to an older save!

Also found a few caves with some hardcore vampire leaders in them. Had to be sly to nail them!

On a comical note, I was outside near a giant camp and suddenly, a mammoth appeared about 500ft in the air!!! He just dropped to the ground and died instantly!!! Made me chuckle.

Im having lots of fun with the Master Conjurer Dead Thrall spell. You get this by completing a personal quest for the conjurer trainer at the mages college.

see [MAJOR Spoilers] Best DEAD THRALLS of Skyrim: Who's your co-pilot(s)? for details

Let's talk natural abilities... so far, Orchendor, apostate worshipper for the Daedra Lord Peryite, is my absolute favorite. He's got a teleportation/healing ability allowing him to vanish and reappear with more health, and he's pretty much invulnerable to spells, so that coupled with life drain on his weapons makes him pretty much unkillable (even though he doesn't have any really decent armor to speak of).

i ended up with a lot of collection quests so figured i would follow the main quest line for a bit and collect the bits as i go along.
ended up "finishing" the game at lvl 23 and only using 1 spell (fireball i think)
Had 1000's of pots all collected but only used 3 of them during a battle with a mage and that was it. Great game but for me disapointing, for me it needed more baddies and some tougher boss fights killing dragons was a little easy and didnt change from lvl 1 - 23 for me.
I also never used soul stones, didnt craft anything and disenchanted about 3 items. Perhaps i spoilt the game for myself but i found it a little easy and only found 1 puzzle that made me think

I play a mage, never touched a weapon just walk around dual casting fireball (its a very low lvl spell) it hurts and makes them stumble.
I really wanted to get into the game, i took each village on its own did the side quests but still lots of places i never went.
i may go back and see what the world has to offer i think i have only seen 3-4 things to kill

Yeah, you didn't do enough side stuff then. Clearing out dungeons and then getting down nice country paths is a deadly experience.

i walked between all quests (found my horse got in my way) between quests locations i would see various dungeons or keeps and go in and clear them out - a bit of a pain as later on someone would send me to those locations for a question and i had already killed the big bad at the end so had to use console commands to summon the item i needed to collect off the end guy.

http://uk.ign.com/wikis/the-elder-sc...kyrim/Firebolt is the spell i used 99% of the time but also found http://uk.ign.com/wikis/the-elder-sc...m/Clairvoyance handy

try putting the dificulty to master and not novice then come back and say its too easy! as for crafting, its not shoved down peoples throats as it your choice of how to play, if you just want to run through the main quest then so be it, but you miss out on ALOT of game play, more "baddies"? seriously? dude do the side quest, speak to people, did you bother with the guild quests at all??

    you've really missed out

level 37 at the moment, theives and companion guilds done, just starting on the mage guild stuff now then on to find the dark brotherhood!

saw my first elder dragon yesterday too! boy those hurt!!

I follow the mage quests until they were nice enough to make me the boss, i used the armour they gave me so that worked out well.

I expect i am on default dificulty and yeah i did do side quests, i treated it like WoW in a way i think i was lvl 16 before i went to the next big town away from dragonsreach. So i go to a town, get the quests and go and do them + investigate anything interesting i see on the way to and from quests.
I have joined the companions but trying to play as a nice guy so not getting involved with the theives but have been to riften as part of a bounty quest and did some work for the person in charge.
I think i suffered from only using 1 spell as i didnt level that quickly compared to people using the full range of weapons etc.
There is a massive bit of the map to the left of dragonsreach were i simply have not been.
Don't get me wrong i don't dislike the game I just found the dragon fights all the same and every easy, it wasnt as if i did a lot of dmg its just i can hide behind a wall and avoid fire/frost etc
