That's right. I'm considering going over to the dorkside.
The only reason I haven't before now is the fact I couldn't afford it. [I've since realise I actually can... ]
I recently picked up a copy of the WoW comic and the "Curse of the Worgen" mini-series. [It was cheap and I like the art style... and the story is pretty good.]
Reading through it, I found myself dropping into my old frame of mind... The mindset which makes me want to do things, in this case get the world of woecraft.
If I were to get it, I would probably get game cards... I've looked about and can only see 60 day ones. Although Blizzard sells 30, 90 or 120. [No 60?]
Does anyone know where to get the 30's apart from Blizzard?
Also, if I were to start playing what would be a good class to start with so I can learn the game? [I'm liking the look of rogue; Either Undead, Worgan or Blood Elf.]
And are the players the kind that only see others as either worthy [Max level, best equips, min/maxing] or n00b [now max level, whatever equips, possibly dodgy/unusual build].
TBH, If I start playing I'm not going to try to get the best of everything. I'd rather play for fun than stress out over items.
It's OK in a good guild that does stuff. Pickups are loot obsessed.
CAM, That's the sort of this I'm looking for...
What's going on with the Edugeek Guild I keep hearing about?
If you do start - I find hunters the most fun, I picked back up when cata came out, and rolled a priest to about 65, decided I didn't like it so rerolled a warrior tank to 85, which was quite fun, but got fed up of dps afkers getting an easy ride... now i've rerolled a hunter (my main from vanilla/tbc/wotlk), which is far more fun!
It's not as bad as the others have said, and with the new need/greed system and justice points/rep to grind for, it's easy to get good loot. If you decide to sign up, come to Azjol Nerub - Alliance (worgen), I'll sort you out with some cash for flying mounts and the like!
Saying that, I'd recommend playing as a Worgen if you wanted to try it. They are part of the Alliance faction and I think just look cool. I can't advise on class really, as I've only every played as a warlock and a hunter. Both classes have pets and are more about inflicting lots of damage from a distance. Warriors, Paladins & Rogues are more one on one combat types, and look awesome at top level with good gear.

To get upto a level of a decent raiding guild that is doing all the top end stuff is going to be near impossible if your starting from scratch (when i say near impossible, you have to get to max level, then start trying to build your kit with the easier instances before you could even apply to a raid guild, even then the top guilds want experience, kit etc). If you can find an 'in' to a guild that will boost you and then run you through some instances to get you decent kit then thats really the only real way to get into the top end quickly.
I stopped playing WOW when WOTLK was released so things may have changed, but i doubt it.
It will all depend on who you know and how much they'll help you out really

You can get mounts form other races, but yea, when you reach lvl 20, you get to run on all 4's at 60% speed. I have a striped Frostsaber from the Night Elves. As a Worgen, when you leave the starting area, you quest in the Night Elf zones, so throw on one of their tabards to get extra reputation, and when you hit "Exalted", you can buy their mounts.
My warrior is actually a worgen, but I went off their looks... They've changed it now so the mounts cost barely anything, and the skill costs a lot too.
I logged in to WoW the other day for the first time in 6 weeks ... I do miss it, but just don't have the time right now. I'm going to be giving it another few weeks to see whether it is still worth coughing up the cash and then I might go to the cards to top things up when I can.
I haven't even really gotten into Cataclysm yet either
On the topic of cards, out of those of you who play, what do you use?
Cards or subscription?
