Before I part with 20 quid [ this will be my Xmas present to myself ] - is this any good ? [ And I have never played any of the others - will this matter ? ]

I personally hated the game, the hype was not worth it. Good FPS wise, but poor story line and MP is just shocking. Despite this, Halo Reach outnumbers black ops and MW2 combined on MP.
