Hi, you don't know me, I'm just an old gamer, who, until the introductionof Windows Vista was a big, big fan of the Star Wars game X-Wing Alliance, but since the graphic subsytem has been changed it does not render correctly and I'm now left without a decent Star Wards space combat simulator. Surely it's time for a new one, utilising all of the new shiney graphical bells and whistles now available. Please?
Oh, and whilst you're at it, will somepone prod Valve and ask them when Half Life 2 Episode 3 will become available?

15th April 2010, 01:08 PM #3 I use VMware workstation to run older games (on 98 or XP). It's compatible with quite a lot of things now that it has some directx 9 acceleration. There are some things that just won't work such as Metal Gear Solid (ported by none other than MS themselves) due to one of the graphical functions being used no longer existing on any modern card. I also hate Sony for removing the backwards compatibility from the PS3, although I have the 60GB which will at least attempt some PS2 games well enough. Having to keep my PS2 now
As for a new Star Wars one (TIE Fighter was better than X-Wing!) I'm not sure if LucasArts remember how to make good games anymore. Perhaps their recent remakes of Monkey Island will remind them.
