Got the new version of this yesterday, a whole day before the actual release date . So far i think it is better than the last one and the new interface is really nice.

I've been playing this for the last couple of weeks but Im waiting for the end of the transfer window so I can download one of the update packs to ensure my game is as up-to-date as possible.

I've downloaded a data update and started playing this again seeing as my PC can hardly play anything else of interest!

I'm pretty sure they are totally unrelated. The football manager that is out now, is a continuation of the Championship Manager series after 2004. At this point the developers "SI Games" split with distributers "Eidos". In the "divorce" Eidos kept the name, and SI kept the database - I think SI purely then just used the name, Football Manager as it seemed uncomplicated.

Great game. Only game's I play nowadays are that and Counter-Strike
