Disaster for Call of Duty fans on PC

Why are server costs so high? I used to be in a clan back in the day for COD (yes the original) and I remember it being quite cheap, we even had a ventrillo server too.

Well the option of having your own dedicated server, with multiple games and mods running is the costlier option. A lot of clans share boxes at £1 per slot or something.

Well we rent a dedicated box as we have around 40 members or so all putting a good bit of money in. Run multiple servers across many games etc.

Maybe IW want to kill off the PC stream so they can concentrate on console only, one less port and not that much £££ to lose as PC must be a pretty low %age of overall sales?

Since I have NEVER got P2P to work on my network reliably (XBox Live, Steam servers, etc) I guess no Modern Warfare for me...

Our clans runs aquite a few severs of the high grade qaulity hence the price, for all the bells and whistles.

Anyway there is an online petition going around that has shall we say become rather popular! The numbers signing this thing in the short amount of time it was open in the early hours was crazy. See your local news source for the link
