Price Drop!

Hi guys...

I know someone has mentioned this in a thread but thought i would make a new thread about this.. with source.

For people who can't be bothered clicking:

Arcade = £159 (down from £199)
Wii = £179
Premium = £199 (down from £249)
Elite = £259 (down from £299)
PS3 = £279

There is also i rumour going round about Microsoft bringing out a new console called Ultimate which will replace the Elite and the Elite will be new premium console. I am still in the process of speaking to Microsoft to see if i can get an offical answer in writing of them

I'm not so sure M$ will bring out a blu-ray drive for the xbox 360 as IMO they'll struggle to sell it if Sony cut the price of the PS3 to around £250. Any add-on drive is likely to be over £125-150 so I think given that people will just buy a PS3 or standalone player instead. That and you're still stuck with the conundrum that most xbox360's dont have HDMI out which I think is required for 1080p blu-ray playback.
I can also see MS trying to focus attention on their on-line movie rentals which makes me think they may not be that keen to promote blu-ray.

I was just thinking the same pal.. I have a 360 and PS3 but i really want the Elite and 60gb PS3

I was sent a replacement system for my old core 360 and I got the arcade one, and it had HDMI on it. So unless they sent me a premium one without a hard drive.....

All 360s are starting to appear with HDMI, its down to them slowly phasing it in from what i've been told.

I think you were just lucky mate.. i spoke to my manager at xbox today and he confirmed that

the acrade will be coming with the HDMI when the new batch gets released in april though
