Red Ring of Death!

I turned my xbox 360 on last night only to see the dreaded 3 red lights! Its 14months old so i will need to send it back to Microsoft oh well looks like i will be with out it for a while

sent mine back... had it for 2 weeks and it did it again. They are sending us a free wireless controller as sorry.

I went out and bought a ps3.... :P

Mine died after about 10/11 months and I had to send it back. It took about a month to get back which I wasn't happy about but at least since I have had the box back it's been fine. Altho saying that the last week the fan started making a bit of noise when I first turn it on ...... Once its warms up tho it's fine I mite put a tea cosey on it when I first turn it on in future LOL

lol, well at least microsoft extended the warrenty on the consoles so u do not have to pay for anything.

Also take your consoles serial number, so when they send yours back you can see if they have actually changed your console.

Don't let the MS marketing machine take you for a ride on this one, the product is inherently faulty and MS know this, thus not replacing it would be in breach of the your consumer rights. It would be up to the purchaser to prove the manufacturing fault, but given how common the problem is, it wouldn't be hard to prove.

I've been wanting an Xbox 360 for ages but this red ring of death malarky has put me off ever buying one. I know so many people who have had it happen to them. One friend is on his fourth console. Microsoft have simply swapped it each time without question.

Shame because the Elite is a beautiful looking bit of kit.

Happend to my 6 month old 360 just before half term, MS CS were very helpful and it was replaced with a recon unit in 13 days door to door. New unit has a much quieter DVD and heat sensitive fans that actually work this time too lol!
The driver who picked mine up said it was his 6th that week, my friends who died a week earlier was the 15th collected that week, so, a VERY common problem

Had this happen to my 360 before Christmas. Credit to Microsoft 11 day turn around and some free MS Points to boot!
