I'm thinking we should start an edugeek clan for Rust, I'm loving the game so far met some really nice people already. 4 Hours straight I played it last night haha, this is not normal for me!
So anyone want to join in tonight to build a kick-ass house and kill some noobs?

The game billed as a zombie survival game... that has removed the zombies?
Not a fan of the genre myself, but it doesn't seem like a promising start?
Hard to follow DayZ though isn't it?

Rust has been a horrible horrible game. Its too overrun with hackers and such like, cannot be bothered with it. Will be sticking to DayZ

They have completely changed it, really good now, people can no longer cheat or hack it otherwise the servers detect it and ban them permanently. I heard it was no longer a zombie surviving game but a game where you now need to survive day to day life.
Its still in beta mode so they do change stuff give it another go you won't be sorry

you buy for me, then yes. I played at my brothers house and was not too enamoured with it (consider it an early birthday present for me) lol

I'd get it if I wasn't slightly skint. Maybe payday...

Quote for truth, however my GFX cards are dying so will be buying a R270X on payday first

16 hours played so far for me, between my group, probably somewhere close to 100 hours.
We like it, never really played it as a Zombie Survival Game, just a "build a house, now build another, now wall off.. cool we has compound... kill all the things time."
There's something satisfying about having a group of 4 people trying to break into your little base for nearly 3 hours and failing every single time. Knowing that as soon as you log out the place is vulnerable is something I haven't seen too much in other games.
Also, with regard to the whole Zombie removal thing, they addressed that in a Status Update a while back:
Looks like they've been wanting to branch out from the Zombie Survival genre for a while, but just didn't know how to.
Helk was meant to remove Zombies before we released on Steam. That never happened. The sooner we remove them the less people will miss them.
We don’t know whether we’re actually going to have to replace them further down the line. It’s not something we want to rush into. Reskinning them so they’re ‘mutants’ instead of ‘zombies’ goes against the whole point of removing them in the first place (which is: we’re not a dayz clone anymore).
