Was chuffed at Hotline Miami for £1.75, been meaning to play it for ages: it hasn't disappointed me so far

Remember not to buy unless it's a Daily Deal, Developer Bundle, Flash Sale, or it's the last day of the sale and the game won't get any cheaper.

Why can't they start them on the first of the month after payday?

You made an excellent decision. Hotline Miami is one of the best games so far this year, in my opinion. Adrenaline pumping gameplay and an interesting story which constantly has you questioning the violence in the game. If you don't own it yet, buy it now.

Do you like hurting other people?

Is it a pick up and play kind of game or do you really need to be invested in the story (i.e. should I play the first game first)?

I have not played Borderlands 2, but I have played Borderlands 1, and feel thoroughly qualified to say: you really don't need the story.

    Really don't.

Well, I had the original Borderlands and only spent a few hours on it and left it there, not because it wasn't good, but other games took hold and it got forgotten about. Borderlands 2 has a bit of a 'previously on Borderlands' intro which I assume covers most of it, but to me, it is a case of pick it up and off you go. Different characters too so it's not really a 'direct' squeal.
