    Lol.

I'm assuming Major Nelson's response is code for "[censored] we didn't expect the media to find out about this..."

That's Xbox all over. Ban first, ask questions later if the media get wind of it.

Apparently MoonlightSwami is going to the launch event as a guest of Microsoft.

Why is he being punished twice for a distributer breaking the release date?

There are a couple of good articles on the Xbox/PS4 today on Arstechnica :-

The Xbox One and PS4 share similar specs, but the devil

    Does the power of today

I'm starting to feel tempted to cancel my XB1 pre-order TBH. I also have a PS4 on order and other than Forza5 (which really looks awesome) there aren't any exclusive titles out for it I want that aren't also coming out on Sony's console. From the tech articles I've been reading and the comments regarding the games it is really looking like the PS4 is going to have a significant hardware advantage this generation. It's making me feel apprehensive about buying an XB1 at launch especially given it's the more expensive machine......

    Hmmmm...

It's going to be a while before developers take advantage of the better hardware though.

Five reasons why PS4 and Xbox One games will blow your minds in 8 years time « Pocket-Lint

... we've taken a look at five top games that featured as launch titles for the current generation of consoles, either Xbox 360, PS3 or both, and their franchise equivalents at the tail end of those consoles' lifespans. The difference in quality is quite remarkable.
Xbox One memory performance improved for production console « Eurogamer

...the launch games will have mostly been developed on incomplete hardware - a state of affairs that was blatantly obvious from titles seen so far. On paper, Sony retains a clear specs advantage, but it was difficult to see that reflected in the quality of the games at E3. Based on what we're hearing about the approach to next-gen development, it could be quite some time before any on-paper advantage translates into an appreciably better experience on-screen. (Source)

Remind me, digital only is the future right? No more disks, right?

While you're still downloading a 50gb game, I'll be playing it from the disk.

    Physical copy master race.

Surprised the hard drive is still 500gb considering the size of these downloads, especially if that's what they're trying to push. What's the betting they have an "elite" version in the pipeline already?

Oh, they probably do. It'll be announced just after launch and be way more expensive.

Or just before and the fee for upgrading will be a lot higher than buying a similar sized HDD/SSD.

I'm upping the PS4 to a 1TB SSHD on day one. After that it's a case of superfast broadband (currently at 60Mbps but can up it to 120Mbps at any time) and simple hard drive management (delete games I've played and don't need any more/redownload if I change my mind).

I probably will up the HDD too, but I can't afford super fast internet... I have other, more important, bills to pay.

I think the PS4 will look slightly better after a few years than the xbox but MS have set up 300,000 server for online players. Add that to the fact they have a massive head start in the online gaming side of things and things balance out. Something like 75% of all online gaming last year was done on an xbox and now they have this massive infrastructure setup to take online gaming to the next level.

Please do not cancel your order as we need someone to test both and feed back. I will take whichever one you do not want, but can only pay with a smiley.

This is a totaly meaningless statistic without any detail. Are they virtual or real servers? In one data farm, or spread across the globe? What spec are they? CPU? RAM? Network connections? Are they dedicated for a particlular game/use?

All I know is the Drivertar feature of Forza 5 looked very interesting.
