    [Emphasis mine.]

Until MS officially comment on it, it's a rumour.

Also, lots of shops put up prices before they're confirmed, just so they have something there.

as to lending dosent the "im off to get a drink while this poo goes away screen" say no unauthorised copying, hiring or lending so it might be legal (not moral or justifiable).

As to price i expect it to be a straight $1 = 1 as everything seems to be meaning that we overpay compared to the yanks again.

I supose that leaving big games anouncements to e3 does make sense but if they were going to do that why not do the whole launch there?

and needing to connect once every 24 hours im assuming that means that they can revoke you "license" to play a game or possibly less dark force you to download a 2gb patch before you play

Well after all this XBox negativity, I'm gonna give MS some credit. There was something very interesting in the announcement, I'm just worried about how very tucked away it was - an after thought. I like the idea of 300,000 cloud servers usable by devs to create larger, more persistent and dynamic gaming worlds.

Unfortunately though, MS just showed of a 400 TV Remote?!?

Sony actually showed off proper games, er running in game, and talked games, and indie development, and well - I'm sold!

If MS turn up at E3 with a proper in game live demonstration of 1 or 2 compelling new IP's that effectively use this cloud technology to create complex open worlds for me to explore - well, I'll forgive them all the TV and Kinnect rubbish they showed last night and happily buy a XBOX ONE over a PS4...

The only game footage MS showed wasn't actually gameplay footage - even when the guy from Infinity Ward said "and now, some gameplay footage". It was all cinematic footage. Which isn't exactly useful.

Xbox is no longer a games console but a media hub.

If you want a dedicated games console get a PS4.

    Interesting that the last gen was the complete opposite;

If you want a media centre get a PS3

If you want a games console get an XBOX 360.

To me MS are heading in exactly the right direction. Smart TVs have clunky OSes which people struggle to use for youtube and browse the web. Apple TV has the ability to be controlled by a tablet/phone. Skype. Media centre. TV PVR? Xbox one can do all of these [in one controlled ecosystem - good for compatibility and good for MSes profits]

Uhhhh, you missed out something crucial... Games? That's why people bought an 'Xbox'. It's 10x better online via multiplayer.

Yes... because sexist, racist, homophobic 10 year olds screaming at me makes games so much better.

You know, there is something you can select which silences them?

It hasn't been around for long, only 15 - 20 years, it's known as MUTE. It works a treat.

    Should try it sometime!

Ignoring the problem doesn't make it go away.

    You also can't mute messages.

Meh, block them, give bad rep and several headshots later the problem goes away.

Well I was hoping that this would give me a reason to switch to Microsoft...but it is had the opposite effect. Quite what MS have been thinking is beyond me.

Initial info about the PS4 is impressive, this is just a waste of time and space. Yes, some good games, but they are all new versions of the old classics. Nothing original there.

They are trying to get people more enveloped in the XBOX experience by turning it into a complete "media hub" - but only a small percentage of people want that. We want to play GAMES. ONLINE and OFFLINE. I'd like both options please. And I'd like to buy games that are a bit older, pre-owned maybe...but no, MS won't be allowing that without an additional charge. A "reinstatement fee" if you will.

Looking forward to the PS4 launch. For me, this could a watershed for Microsoft - Sony could gain heaps of market share here and Microsoft will struggle to recover.

Trust MS to give you mundane user management tasks at home as well as at work.

    XBOX games locked to accounts
