According to a newly released statement from the modders behind the Wiikey, the Wii U has been hacked. As of now, since there's no product yet on the market, the group's claims have yet to be confirmed, but if there's a group that could hack the Wii U it would be the Wiikey team. As such, the potential for piracy on the Wii U could skyrocket. I'd say homebrew could as well, but it's not clear if the Wii U Key will allow that.

Here's the statement released by the Wiikey group announcing that they'd hacked the Wii U:

"Yes, its real we have now completely reversed the Wii U drive authentication, disk encryption, file system, and everything else needed for this next generation K3y. Stay tuned for updates!"
