Looks like a cheap cut of LoL to be honest, but i've bordededed on LoL apart from ranked.
+1 to that last statement!
I'm in for game 2 if its still going ahead, registered and waiting!
Some of the guys that made LoL made the first DOTA (which came first, as a Warcraft mod), if my grapevine info is correct. Which it may not be. But it might. So that would technically make LoL the cheap cut of DOTA :P
Having played both, I find DOTA to be fairer and better all-round. It's admittedly much more intimidating to start, since all ~100 heroes are free. A new player sits there going 'AAAAH! WHAT DO I DO?!", feeds to hell and gets the rest of his team annoyed (unless you're me, I do my best to calmly explain things to new players, but I don't usually get grouped with them now due to the way matchmaking works). Fortunately, unlike LoL, you can't report someone for being a noob/inexperienced :P
Back OT (again).. So we have to wait for the game to have everybody registered in it before it starts, right? That gives me time to research it when I get home later xD

Game 1 is waiting for sparkeh and SimpleSi. Nothing happens until all players are enrolled and then it will notify. You then are assigned a country at random and you have 48hours to make your initial negotiations, decide your strategy and make your moves. If everyone finalises their moves before then the turn rolls over early. After that it is 24 hours a turn.
24..... 24 HOURS!? A TURN!? What the noodles have you got us into!
Bring me in...happy to play if I can do my turns in the evenings.
