One week to go, who plans on getting a copy? Cities are smaller but there are plenty of things to keep you busy with managing specialisations, citizen's needs and more importantly, fitting your city into a region with other players by sharing power, education, emergency services, etc whilst not polluting the hell out of your neighbours (or accepting their trash for money and giving it back to them as air pollution by burning it
). Edu Island anyone?

28th February 2013, 12:17 PM #3 I really like the look of it, but its not out on the Mac until later in the year
I spent a lot of my life playing Sim City 2000/3000 but for somereason i could not gel with Sim City 4, infact i hate it.
The maps do look small on Sim City 5 which is a little off putting but the fact you can have many smaller cities specialising in things will hopefully make up for it.

28th February 2013, 12:19 PM #4 It's annoying that decent versions of this and Civilization never make it to the console world! Haven't owned a proper PC for years and the macs/laptops I have had on occasion are never good enough to run any games properly
I'm sure I've got SIM City 2000 on the Playstation or SNES lying around somewhere, it'd have to do for now
I lost a lot of my life to Sim City 1 and Civilization 1 back in the Amiga days

28th February 2013, 12:23 PM #5 I use to like playing SIM city on SNES also have it on iPad, but will have to wait for the mac version to come out.

im sure id heard nearer £65 but i dont see the need for internet seems a bit draconian to me

28th February 2013, 02:22 PM #10 £65 is for the deluxe version. I think that has the London city set in it. You can buy it separately though for less than the Deluxe set.
I'll possibly get it when it comes out on Mac, unless it turns out to be hideous.

28th February 2013, 03:14 PM #11 I got it £29 from Tesco with voucher codes. Seems reasonable to me, HUKD is always flashing up deals on new titles for canny gamers.
Yes, it is online and it is a bit overkill if you are going single but region play is the real attraction at the end of the day! Even offline, the city still produces pollution and people movement which affects other players in your region. Example is above, another player buys your rubbish collection service, you burn the trash and generate electricity which is sold on to a third player's city. Everyone gets a bit of air pollution from your activities whilst you find yourself buying water and healthcare in return because you have polluted your water-table. The server uses online features to carry out the calculations for this city interaction.

Fanbois keep downvoting it out of protest though to make all the deals cold when they should be the opposite. Idiots are breaking the main purpose of the site.

Oddly I have gone back to my PC gaming ways! The PS3 sits alone in the corner while I play CIV 5, bless it.

Can't justify £500 just to play Civ5 (as much as I'd really love to)
I'd have to endure the less spectacular Civ Revalutions instead, of dig out an old copy of Civ2.
