Hello all!

Recently one of my heads asked that i look into an "E-Beam" system that we are thinking about using in our new temp classroom that is going to be coming into service in the next couple of months

Now we have had a demo model from e beam which i wasnt impressed with but the teachers did seem to like it, however the head isn't willing to make a final judgement without seeing the kit being actually used in a lesson etc.

Basically the school i work for is located in dewsbury around the WF12 postcode, are there any schools out there that have these e beams in and would be willing to allow the head from my school to come visit yours and have a look at the kit in use?

If you wish to keep any details confidential etc please PM me.

I'm really confused by this, I've got a new buffalo access point at school which the trolley full of laptops (hp6720s) will only connect to if WPS is enabled. The laptops will not connect before logon for new users if WPS is turned off. I've not needed to configure it just enable it. I've got WPA2 security setup but am worried that WPS may make the ap less secure.

I've got 2 older buffalo AP's that will allow new users to logon, I've changed numerous settings on the laptops, they have static IPs, bios settings correct, latest drivers etc.

Hi all!

I'm currently in my last year of university, last year I was on a placement year working in a school hence why I hang around here, and i'm wondering if some of you would please take a couple minutes of your time to fill in a questionnaire for me.
Last year one of my jobs was to keep presentation screens up-to-date, I also had several quotes and demonstrations from companies trying to sell us a real digital signage solution rather than the powerpoint/flash setup we used.

For my final year project i've decided to research and then build a digital signage solution which will have a web-based backend which will control a running presentation.

I'd just like some feedback on wether you currently use a form of digital signage, even if you don't please just hit the "no" answer on the first question and then hit submit as these results will be helpful aswell. If there's two members from the same school on here it would be helpful to me for just one of you to fill out the questionnaire.

The questionnaire is here: Digital Signage Questionnaire

Thank you very much for your time :D

Hi Guys,

Looking for a little advice. Need to get some machines for Video Editing. Got the PC's spec'd up but am having trouble settling on the software.

Ordinarily I'd use Mac and iMove HD, but the budget only allows for max three new machines and there are already two PC's in use. We (teacher, head and myself) came to the agreement that five working PC's are better than two top spec Macs :(

But what software to use on Windows? I think I've got the list down to three likely candidates...

Sony Vega Movie Studio 9 Standard
Cyberlink Power Director 7
Adobe Premiere Elements 7

Ideally, I'd like something as close to iMovie HD on the Mac in terms of interface, ease of use, and features. Reading .net reviews currently put Elements in the lead - seems to be the closest to iMovie I can find.

Does anyone have experience with any of these programs or suggest other alternatives that I might like to check out?

Cheers

Terry.

Does anyone know of any good software for managing multiple monitors. I have my MBP hooked up to my external Monitor through an HDMI switch. If I change the source of the switch eg to my PS3 then it loses the monitor connection (as if the cable is unpluged) and all windows revert to the MBP's screen.

I want to make sure any windows open and stay on the external screen only. If I turn the MBP on and close the lid so only the external monitor is active it works OK until I change inputs on the HDMI switch and then it instantly goes to sleep no matter what the MBP is doing, eg using the network etc. Sleep is disabled in the settings panel.

I can't seem to get articles to have a status of published on 2 different sites

When I create articles (from the front-end) they don't end being seen on my sites.

When I go into the back-end and look for recent articles - they are there but their status icon seems to be a mixture of publish and not published

Both sites have been patched to 1.5.8 - I've tried different editors/browsers and getting the same result.

I can change their state to unpubished but can't make them published :(

Any ideas?

I set up Liberum a few years ago at my main school and it works OK.

I'm just installing it at a new school, and can't get it to play. I think it's a Server 2003 problem.

I've successfully gone to http://server/helpdesk/setup.asp and done that, I can access the license.jtml page, but can't access any other pages.

If I go to
http://server/helpdesk/default.asp

I just get a 404-not found page.

I know the page is there. ASP is enabled. I've given everyone full access to the helpdesk folder and the database folder, just for testing. I can access the setup.asp page, but nothing else. I'm completely stumped.
