Read-only access to web interface for Exchange 2010.

We have a Exchange Server 2010 running our webmail.

We have a generic email account that I would like users to log in with, but only have read access to. Other users, through the Manage Full Access Permission wizard, would be able to delete / move / etc as appropriate.

The second part I can do. However, I can't work out how to give the generic user only read access to their mail.

Any suggestions on how to do this?

Can't see how you can do this as the account htey are using will have full access permissions, i.e the self account. You need to move away from a a generic account and give them account and setup delegates or maybe used sharepoint or public folders.

Surely you can remove the permissions for Self from the Exchange mailbox then re add the account with read only?

Or maybe removing SELF would break it, only one way to find out...

I can't see how to add the SELF back with Read Only permission - the only wizard I can find is for Full Access. Is there some other way to do this?

We don't have Sharepoint. However, the email system would work quite well. I have a number of users that will be emailing stuff into this generic box. I would have rules set up to automatically file them into appropriate folders. I would like users to be able to log in and see historical documents, but don't want users to be able to modify or delete them.

What about using a PF instead?
