Exchange 2003 to 2013 migration route?
So we have a shiny new exchange server winging it's way to us, we were planning on running exchange 2010 but have since opted to go for exchange 2013 on Win2k8R2, having never done anything like this before it is a bit daunting made worse by 2013's new interface, so the rough plan was to pretty much leave 2003 running on the old box while setting up the new box with 2008R2 installing exchange 2013 setting up connectors dns etc then checking this functions as it should before exporting 03 mailboxes to pst's and then importing them into exchange 2013, does this sound like it would work, is there an easier way, are there any gotchas to be aware of? I've watched the exchange 2013 videos on youtube, install config etc but Im a bit unsure about the various dns settings mx records etc and where they actually need to point to and if anything needs changing on the rm hosting, when I do a lookup on our site we get as the mx record "preference = 10 in.mx.ifl.net. [188.8.131.52]" so is in.mx.ifl.net what we put as the mx record on the exchange server?? any tips tricks, guides, walkthrough gratefully accepted!
