Just to Hijack slightly when you deploy an app where do you set the settings on a time to install it please? What happens when the timeslot has been missed (for example the machine is turned off or logged on at the time) Can you get some apps to install at start up please?

    Thanks

This is controlled by the advertisment for the application..

Go to the advertisment, right click and properties, then on the scheduling tab. In the middle box where it says "Mandatory Assignments" and click the New button

You can then set a date/time to deploy it or "After This event" and "As Soon as possible" - meaning that it'll deploy as soon as the client refreshes the policies.

As for reruns or missed -the machine will deploy the software as soon as the "Deadline" has passed
In the same tab - set the last dropdown box to "Rerun if failed previous" - which means that the client will continue to install the app until it is successful

I would recommend you set the program itself (packages -> package name -> packages -> program name -> Properties -> Environment tab) to run whether or not a user is logged in 0 this allows a client to install at any time (eg at the CAD screen and noone is logged in)

I would advise taking a look at Task Sequences to deploy software, the are a lot more flexible than the standard software adverts.

Agreed - forgot about them - Only really used them for deploying Windows Live though and of course OSD

Is it downloading to the client? (C:\Windows\System32\CCM\Cache\<deployment id>)

If it is - What's the command line?

You should be able to check the logs for the deployment under Computer Management -> System Status -> Advertisement Status > <advertisement> -> RC the entry in the Right Hand Pane -> Show Messages -> All

If its getting to the client then its likely the command line
