Quick SCCM question re: package files
Just looking to re-build my SCCM server at the moment but just wondering if I should change the configuration I've been using until now...
Usually I've had a large drive that houses the distribution share (SMSPKGE$ or whatever the drive letter is on that system) and also storing the package source files on the same drive. It does seem a bit odd as effectively you end up with two copies of the data (in the original package source files then on the distribution share sending it out to clients).
Just thinking whether I should...
- split the distribution point away as a separate server
- move the package source files to a NAS or something similar
- keep it as is!

At the moment, We do that due to lack of anywhere else to put it
I did build a Secondary Site at one point and use it as a 2nd DP (Branch?)
This may be a better solution if you have a spare box floating about as you can at least replicate the DP across 2 Machines..

Do you image machines through SCCM as well? Was just trying to avoid doubling up on large WIM files mainly...

I do pretty much everything with SCCM - Software Distribution, OS Deployment, WSUS and now Forefront Endpoint 2010 definitions....

Nice, does it eat up a fair chunk of disk space for that lot in the package source and distribution folders?
