Question Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 Server Edition - Evaluation copy anyone?

We are considering buying Symantec Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 Server Edition.

I would like to see it in action first and believe there is an evaluation copy available.

However, the download link for the eval copy on Symantec's web site is dead and I can't seem to get a copy anywhere.

Does anyone have an evaluation copy they could let me have or know of a site where I can download one?

    Thanks - Andrew

I might have one if you can wait until next week?

On a sidenote i think the product is excellent. Its ideal certain servers like terminal servers. You can make a whole image of the server while it is live. If you hardware is completely destroyed you can restore the whole OS on another completely different server!

Is not good for servers like domain controllers. If you restore a backup like that on a DC replication will totally messup.

The only problems I have had with BESR is when a techie has not RTFM...

Enterprise Support - Symantec Corp. - This document covers best practices for Backup Exec System Recovery 2010 and Windows 2003/2008/2008 R2 Server and Active Directory Domain Controllers.

If the DC you are restoring is not a role holder then the restore is simple quick and painless.
If you need to recover your main root DC and FSMO role holder you need to understand the whole process.

I use BESR extensively for backups and P2V and V2P and have never had an issue at all.

BTW this download was working when tested...
