    Internet Explorer 11 Silent Install

    Hiya,

I am looking to send out IE 11 to Windows 7 machines via SCCM. It looks like we can't add it as a software update yet, so i will have to make a package. I have found this article but the link next to the download step doesn't contain a download. I have tired another offline installer of IE 11 and the switches in the article do not work.

    Have i missed something here?

    Thanks

I think you need to use the IEAK.

Another alternative would be to install IE11 via DISM (assuming all of the prerequisite updates are already installed?).

    Code:
    x64: %SystemRoot%\SysNative\dism.exe /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Temp\Windows6.1-KB2841134-x64.cab /quiet /norestart
    x86: %SystemRoot%\System32\dism.exe /online /add-package /packagepath:C:\Temp\Windows6.1-KB2841134-x86.cab /quiet /norestart

Are you sure it's not available as an update?

I'm almost certain it popped up on our WSUS server before Christmas. In the Update Catalog it's come under the Update Rollups category, not 100% sure how SCCM works but perhaps you just need to double check the products it's looking for updates for? Either that or possibly just import it from Microsoft Update Catalog (search either Internet Explorer 11 or 2841134 and it's on the 2nd page)

Just make sure you test it throughly. IE11 seems to not work with quite a few sites.

Alternatively just import it then deploy via WSUS and specify an install date.

Thanks for the replies, we are not using WSUS. You can't fiddle with WSUS if you are using SCCM.
@free780 this is all part of the test program. It will be imported and deployed to a handful of machines. The deployment process is part of the test.

While specifying another update, it does talk you through importing an update from the update catalog into SCCM: KB2775511 deployment for the SCCM Admin - Michael Griswold's SCCM Tips and Tricks - Site Home - TechNet Blogs
