    all depends on what you're trying to achieve. You can just give users 25GB mailboxes if you have enough storage. ideally you want a separate database for the archive on sepere storage. havr that replicated too.

    Could a nas device be used for the archive database?

    No NAS is supported, only DAS, JBOD, SAN.
