SCCM 2012 Updates & Packages Not Installing

    Hi,

I moved my SCCM 2012 SP1 setup onto a new server. I thought all was well but for some reason it wont install Software Updates or packages to the clients. For packages it just sits on "Waiting for Service Window" (There is one). Software updates are not installing on the clients.

The clients are reporting stuff back to SCCM, i can see the policy request date and time on the client.

I have had a look at the component status for the DP on SCCM and i cant see anything obvious.

A brand new client install doesn't work either.

    Any ideas please?

Is the service window long enough for the estimated install time of the software? Updates in particular want a good long stretch of time free - I forget exactly how long, but I know SCCM assumes it needs something like 45 minutes per update and if it doesn't have that stretch of time it won't do anything (regardless of how long the updates will actually take to install).

Packages have the estimated run time field when setting them up.

Yep thats all fine. It was working fine until i migrated to the new server.

Some software updates i publish (such are endpoint definitions) do not require a service window.

Are the SCEP updates being installed?

may be worth reinstalling the DP and maybe SUP if the SCEP updates are failing too

Is there anything in the client logs?

I assume the maintenance windows have moved over with the migration? (never moved SCCM so don't know)

Are you using certificates for secure mode?

SCEP updates are not install. I have already tried doing the SUP role. If i add and remove the DP during the remove will it remove all the content data from my server?

    Usual supsects are:

    ContentTransferManager

    UpdatesHandler
    UpdatesStore
    UpdatesDeployment
    WUAHandler

    And possibly CCMExec, ScanAgent, execmgr

@Gatt - What do you think about this? Apparently my definition is not required on my machines.

    Thanks

Odd - have you done a machine policy refresh on a client and then rerun summarization on the server to see if it changes?

Yep no change. By the looks of it, the update might have been superseded

Just checked on my server and none of my updates for SCEP show a "required" count
Usually superseded updates go orange once SCCM knows there is a newer update...
