Enterprise Software Thread, Move SCCM 2012 to New Server in Technical; I did the migration at weekend and i will sum it up in one word... Easy!!!! I did the prerequisites ...

    I did the migration at weekend and i will sum it up in one word... Easy!!!!

    I did the prerequisites a few days before. On the day i took a backup and shut down the old box. Joined the new one to the domain with the same name, started the setup and clicked recover site. Pointed to the backup folder, told the installer not to restore the DB as that box is still running. Once installed i had to update the distribution points with my packages etc.

    Very happy with how it went!

    Honest it was dead easy.

    Do you have your SQL server on the same box as SCCM?

    No different server
    Both VMs too - so snapshots will make life easier too!
