Outlook 2010 is not connecting to exchange 2010
Basically, like most schools, we have two separate but physically linked networks Also, we use separate IP address for admin and curriculum. Eg 192.x.x.x series for curriculum and 10.x.x.x series for admin. Curriculum server run Windows 2008 R2 Standard and admin server runs Windows 2003 Standard and trust relationships are established between both domains. We also have an exchange server 2010 that run on Windows 2008 R2 Standard.
From the curriculum side of the network, any staff can access their emails with either OWA or Outlook 2010 within office application. Whereas staff can only access their emails with only OWA in admin side of the network and when you try to use outlook 2010, it comes up with 2 error messages. (1) windows security and within it showing admin domain and the second message is “cannot open your email folders. You must connect to Microsoft exchange with the current profile before you can synchronize with your Outlook data file (.ost).
Any suggestions of any possible solutions please??

Auto discover work because any networked pc can access exchange with outlook 2010 but unable when use through admin domain with Windows 2003.

Good Morning Sukh and thanks for responding to my problems. We have only one AD and there are no firewalls or ACL between the networks.

Does that one look like this?

If so, they may just need to enter the correct credentials including the correct domain.

25th February 2013, 04:10 PM #11 Can you do this simple test for me and let me know the results.
1.Start Outlook.
2.Hold down the Ctrl key, right-click the Outlook icon in the notification area, and then click Test E-mail AutoConfiguration.
3.Verify that the correct email address is in the E-mail Address box.
4.In the Test E-mail AutoConfiguration window, click to clear the Use Guessmart check box and the Secure Guessmart Authentication check box.
5.Click to select the Use AutoDiscover check box, and then click Test

Have you tried creating a new profile and also removing OST file in case it has been corrupted. If none of these method help then you can check this blog MPECS Inc. Blog: Outlook Error – Cannot open your default e-mail folders. You must connect to Microsoft Exchange with the current profile . . . . Here with the help of registry key you can solve this issue.
Regards
Sarah
