    Exchange help needed

I could do with some help on a strange exchange problem we have.

I have been informed that we aren't receiving emails from some domains and one domain in particular is yahoo, however, if an email was sent via a desktop machine from yahoo, the email comes through without any problems but if i was to send an email from yahoo via my mobile (so mobile yahoo mail) the email says its sent but our exchange server wil not pick it up and i do not get any bounce back emails.

Here is some resutls of email providers we have tested:

    Via a phone (mobile version)
Hotmail - Comes through to the exchange server without any problems
Gmail - Comes through to the exchange server without any problems
Yahoo - Email will not come through to the exchange server

    Via a desktop machine
Hotmail - Comes through to the exchange sevrer without any problems
Gmail - Comes through to the exchange server without any problems
Yahoo - Comes through to the exchange server withouth any problems

Could it be our firewall that is the issue? or our domain???

Now a parent has mentioned to reception that they are having problems sendings emails. I contacted the parent and said would you mind sending the bounce back to my personal email address

    Code:
Delivery to the following recipient failed permanently:

         ***School email addresss******

    Technical details of permanent failure:
Unspecified Error (SENT_MESSAGE): Connection timed out

The parent seems to be using their own domain (i have blanked it out) but has it configured through email.

However, this is where it gets interesting, i tried to forward the bounce back email to my work email and exchange would not pick it up so i get i bounce back a couple of days later saying Connection Timed Out, but if i was to remove the header informatiion which i needed to see in the first place, the email would come through without any problems.

Can anyone help me out on this please?

    Thanks

    Just got it working...

Its to do with the firewall, our ASA5510 running version 7.2 which was blocking the esmtp protocol.

This document helped me and maybe it will help someone else out

ASA Release 7.2(2) and Gmail - Cisco Hacks.

I can confirm that i can receive emails from the mobile side of yahoo mail.

    Whoop!

Haven't had any noticeable problems with it since last century and that was a subtle interaction with MS Proxy firewall client. The key point is supporting opportunistic TLS (STARTTLS), because regardless of the risks of interception it ticks a security box that a lot of the public sector and probably the ICO really wants ticked these days. If you sort out your end then everything to/from the government will use it, and the same is probably true for LA systems etc. Live@Edu/Office365 has also done it since they added Forefront.

that is exactly where I have seen issue with clients, when TLS is in use, and the cause 10/10 times has been esmtp.
