Any specific settings to look out for? Instead of the "Use Cached Mode" tick box when verifying the mail box name?

Tried that, moved ALL files out of the Outlook folder and created a new profile. Still had the same issue.

But instead of a delivery report back, it prompted me straight away with the attached dialogue box.

    Sorry, forgot to reply.

    2 x Server 2008 R2 Standard DC's
    1 x NT Domain

    Was upgraded from 3 x Server 2003 DC's.

All new servers last year, including the Exchange 2012 Server after upgrading the DC's

Can you try this - How to configure how the Offline Address Book is downloaded when you use Outlook in Cached Exchange Mode

Put value 0 & delete any OAB files from the users profile.

Removed the OAB after modifying the registry as directed - with a 0 in the DWORD field.

Removed the Email address from the Send from email address and entered it back in.

First email went ok as usual and the second email I tried to send had the delivery not of "You can't send a message on behalf of this user unless you have permission to do so. Please make sure you're sending on behalf of the correct sender, or request the necessary permission. If the problem continues, please contact your helpdesk."

What is the default SMTP for the user trying to send-as?
How many smtp domains do you have?
Is the user trying to send-as a different email domain than their default?

We have 3 email domains, 2 are for accepting emails only as they are the old email addresses. But the sending domain matches the default domain.

Eg they will get an email if its addresses to @domain1.com or @domain2.com or @domain3.com but they can only send from @domain3.com

My default email address is @domain3.com and I am trying to send out from the helpdesk@domain3.com

    Is that what you mean?

I have created other accounts e.g Accounts and PIU and given Full Access, Send As and Send on Behalf of rights to the other people and the issue still remains.

So it's not related to the one mailbox it seems to be the server itself

Can you check your account & the test account & see if the checkbox for "...inheritance" is ticked on the AD User object?

Do you mean, in AD U&C, User Properties, Security, Advanced and "Include inheritable permissions from the Object's parent"?

    It's unchecked
