    Not sure where you are looking but Exch is 64bit and you will need 64bit FPE 2010 too. 32 bit is only for testing.

    We used to have a 2 custom linux box on SLES . But for the rebuild and move from Groupwise to Exchange we went with a install of ClearOS 5.x

    Very easy to use, runs on a light Virtual machine.

    Another option, for those with EES, is Forefront Online Protection for Exchange. All your mail is routed first through Microsoft's mail server (so, you need to change your MX record to point there), before it is then delivered to the school. This has several advantages, not least of which being your servers do not get hit by all the unwanted mail, as well as offloading the responsibility for keeping everything up to date.
