Why do some EduGeek hyperlinks in posts go through api.viglink.com?

Yes I looked up the site after posting and realised that.

Thought it was some kind of link hijacking.

Not all links, it should only be ones that have referrals.
Viglink basically add our referral id onto the link so if it was say pointing to amazon we would get commission from a sale.
We are testing 2 currently, viglink is enabled but the other is vbulletin based skimlinks. I think we will probably go back to skim tbh.
