Default Ad Block Splash before Ad Loads

Afternoon,

Another very trivial but mind annoying one I've noticed today.

When browsing forums/new posts etc the page loads with the grumpy "you're blocking the ads" message and then the ad loads as normal. - Not sure whether this will be increasing the load in delivering an image for it to be quickly replaced by the ad or whatnot.

Just makes my eyes flicker

i beleive that the sad smiley is the background image for the frame, which the adverts sit on top of.

so those that remove the ad, see the smiley background, and it must be showing the background briefly while the advert loads.

I dont believe there is any detection on the part of blocking ads, just that when the ad is blocked, its just the background one would see.

aplogies if thats what the other thread says... its a bit long for now

Strange phenomenon here at my school - all adverts are displayed except the Google banner, instead I get the "blocked ads" banner. The forums page shows all the Flash banners, first post shows that one as well, it's just Google ads that seem to be blocked.

Now that is down to either the LEA or the grid filters, it's not me honest.
