    If you click the Thanks button in a thread then you can't give that person rep. Is this intentional? Is +rep automatically given each time you press the Thanks button?

    I assume that the way rep is automatically dished out, it means that you cannot give out more willy nilly.

    That's correct. There's a limit on how many times you can thank/rep some one in a given space of time.
