Been trying to google this.. but not getting an answer
Will an I3 (3.2Ghz (2nd Gen))
Win 7 64Bit. 2TB HD
Handle 30Players without stressing. Ive increased the ram from 1gb to 6gb for the JAR.
(by using java -Xmx6144M -Xms6144M -jar minecraft_server.jar) in a bat file.
I would of thought so, but of course I can only speculate. Presumably you'd have gigabit connectivity server side?
yea 1gb connection. Only to be internal. Afterschool Club.
Also (for your reference) Windows 7 Pro allows upto 20 concurrent connections. Anymore than this and you'll need either another Windows 7 setup or a 2008 R2 setup which is essentially unlimited with the right CALs in place.
I would always spec 256MB Ram per user. So, I'd bump it up to 8GB to be safe.
I'd also be unsure about an i3 handling that load to be honest - if they start going off and making things like mob farms, or using TNT...
It certainly will have issues with boats and railcarts with 30 users I'd say.
However, this will only come into play over time - an initial world won't be too demanding but over time the demands will grow.
Finally, Windows 7 will run it fine - the 20 concurrent limit is based on SMB, not Minecraft.
