Any news on when we're going to get v 1.7.2?

I want some piston goodness.

Also, can we have the built in nether turned on? ie. not the multiworlds one, but the one which allows for fast travel (1 block in the nether is 8 blocks on the surface, so we would be able to travel vast distances via it, and we'll need this when 1.8 comes along - else we'll have to spend forever travelling in order to hit new land for the adventure stuff).

It is just a single config line to turn on...

I got back from USA finally on Friday and I am testing 1.7.2 right now so should have news on that soon.
RE: traveling, one thing to note, if used as a shortcut this could stick tons of portals everywhere which would be bad in a way but nether will be on in normal mode with 1.7.2

Sure, you might end up with portals everywhere, but I can't really see a huge issue with that?

Depends how bad it becomes, space shouldnt be wasted as such and newbies on the server will have to go further and further to find a space.

True, but there's bucket loads of space on there. I think the problem is that too many people are hanging around spawn to do their building myself.

Not to mention, exploring is going to be the key part once 1.8 comes along.

Hehe yeh I got bogged down fixing/testing bugs and pushing out updates on edugeek last night till 5:30am, I will be getting to it soon

Just an update for you, I was just about to put 1.7.2 live when 1.7.3 came out (which meant people would update to that rather then 1.7.2)
Now it appears bukkit have borked their branching and are having to fix a ton of things as they had no idea 1.7.3 was coming out.
As soon as bukkit push a 1.7.3 it will be done asap.
Sorry for the delays, cant believe they pushed a new version just before we went to 1.7.2

Hehe. I made the mistake of switching computers and wiping the old one, so now I'm stuck on 1.7.3. Having a plod around in singleplayer until I can connect back on.
