the situation with minecraft nether
I now there are a fair few of you wanting to go nether so I thought I would update you all on my findings.
Currently, on our server, there are some serious chunk (sections of map) loading issues when you teleport. You will see this at times when you use /home but when you go out to the nether it can take 30 secs before you can actually do anything and by that time the ghosts will probably kill you.
This is why I have held off turning the nether on as such but the good news is that bukkit appear to be on it, they have recently had a flurry of builds which imply fixes for teleporting and the nether in general so hopefully it will be soon.
I know some of you have tested your own servers without issue but even when I have recreated the nether map the chunk issue persists. I am not sure if its the fact our maps are quite large now that is causing the issue to be more prenounced or not but the issue still occurs.
I will be testing the latest builds of bukkit soon so hopefully all will play well.
