Will there be a Twitter Tag for the conference? Might be worth agreeing one before hand so people can follow from afar?

Good idea. It will give my something to do while I wait for my new kitchen to be delivered.

Sounds good, hasn't been used before as far as I can see. Perhaps keep it all lowercase though: #educon09

So is there going to be someone sitting and typing a description of what is being said, as it is being said, then? Is this going to happen just for the talks, or is someone going to wander around inbetween times typing stuff too? Is there any way to get any audio and/or video of the event, or are people going to post PowerPoint slides up somewhere we can see them?

One of these days someone will invent a robot that can attend conferences for you - something on wheels with a screen showing your face via teleconferencing, maybe with a hand that can be waved around to ask questions, self-propelled so it can wander between rooms...

We will be getting the slideshows and any images/videos in a library which we will also present to the viewers. But yes someone will be updating the viewers through-out the day.

We want to get you involved just as much as everyone else, so if everyone at the conference gets asked a question we will also ask the same question to the viewers. And relay your answers back as if you were sitting at the conference. If you would like to ask a question then yes the option is available, unfortunately we cannot guarantee all questions will be answered but we will try our very best

We are also working on audio/video input so that you don’t just have to view the console, but can listen to the speakers at the conference.

As for breaks, someone will be there to talk to you we won’t forget about you don’t worry ... if we can give you a virtual drink we will : D

    James.

IIRC the tag was already decided on by Russ a few months back ... I'll dig through my tweets to see what it was.

    EDIT - beaten too it

The Tag will also link with http://conf.edugeek.net/getInvolved.html so if anyone tweets with that tag, it will also appear there for members to see.

Members who cannot attend should be able to get involved just as much.
